In 4th grade’s curriculum, we all might have learned the following quote:
A mother’s lap is the first school for a child.
In my case this quote has proved so much that I am writing this blog for my mentor; my mother.
Life teaches us a lot of new things every day and enables us to tackle all the things when we are inexperienced. A mother is the soul that already knows the upcoming hardships in her child’s life. She does her utmost best to teach each and every aspect of life before life itself strikes hard on her child.
I was told to write something about my mentor .I pondered the whole night and I couldn’t find anyone but my mother who soundly sleeps beside me. She is a working woman, a devoted wife, a caring mother and the most experienced person I have interacted with so far. Since she started her teaching career right after completing her master’s degree. Therefore she has seen people of many kinds.
If I talk about the goals that she and I share, it’s our goal to remain satisfied no matter what the circumstances are. We don’t focus on winning. She has surfaced many challenging situations in her teenage life when she was demanded to do all chores due to her mother’s illness and still she didn’t leave her education behind.
She once told me that she wasn’t even aware of the titles of chapters in her books. She often had to study one night before the exam. She started her government job in a girls school as a headmistress, She was the first ever head in that school . She is a self made woman. She left her seniority for the sake of her family which is why she is still in Grade-18, otherwise she would’ve been promoted to Grade-19.
Her presence in my life, or should I quote it this way: having her as my mother, is among the best things that has happened to me. She is the one that gave me the confidence for which I’ve been praised everywhere.
People say that behind every successful man there is a woman. I believe that behind every successful girl there is mother
All my success stories are joined at one knot and that knot is my mother, who has always been an essential part of all my life; either personal or academic. I can’t say professional as I haven’t started one yet.
In the end, I just want to thank you (mama g) for always being there for me and supporting me in every decision of my life.
