At first, I was very confused about the idea of happiness. It isn’t a constant, it is a variable that can be changed from one situation to another and from person to person. Happiness can’t be bought or sold. It is a certain state of our mind when we feel relaxed and we feel joy in our moments. Human life is full of ups and downs so happiness is all your choice whether you want to enjoy these ups and downs or not.
Last year, I was too depressed as I was emotionally disturbed, I had a financial crisis to solve and exams. I was very demotivated and somewhat life became unbearable for me. But what I thought is that I’ll not give up so easily. If life is punching me down, I’ll defend myself with patience. I’ll learn from my mistakes. So to fix my happiness what I used to do is meditate and play football. I used to sit alone and listen to meditation audios and motivating speeches at night. In the evening, I used to play football regularly with full warm-ups and cool-down exercises. In addition to that, I used to help others in any way possible i.e. helping the poor, helping elderly people, etc. This brought along more positivity into my life. And, although I wasn’t able to resolve the financial crisis at hand, it helped me cope better with the situation at hand. It helped me breathe through it. With time and with the help of Allah, I managed to overcome the hurdles that stood in my way.
