Fear of Failure

So, here comes the success story of a girl who is an introvert and has a mind full of complicated thoughts. It might seem contradictory that I’m sharing a success story while I’m sharing my weaknesses alongside. Hitting my own nerves, yes.

But I want to confess my fear of failure. Let’s go to the flashback where I was just sitting in the weariness of my classroom in the biotechnology department of GCU. I thought I might die of the boredom I was feeling at that very moment. I talked to my junior fellow about sports as I had always been fond of basketball but could never take part in these sorts of activities. She told me about the interdepartmental sports and matches that were about to be held.

It was the moment where I took a step to move out of my comfort zone. Within no time, I was doing tug of war, wall climbing and playing basketball, etc. I realized that the things that are meant to happen, will unravel eventually. It is just about allowing yourself the chance to move towards the wind and let your soul be free.

I motivated myself as self motivation is the best thing when it comes to growing yourself. And, I saw myself grow. I was supported by my junior who was a pro in sports and sometime this year, I’ll be awarded for my best contribution in the sports from my department.

Imagine. The person who was so fearful to express herself reached the point where she has expressed is expressing and will keep expressing herself when the time comes.

It also means that we could unlearn some of the previously learned set of beliefs, behaviors, attitudes and skills that do not serve us anymore.

Benett says, “Don’t be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart.” I think this is relatable. But still, I have a question!
